Can you image a tent can be sew by yourself? Nothing is impossible.

Tulle is one of the most versatile decorating items a bride can have in her arsenal. From chairs to swags on the ceiling, tulle can go just about anywhere. When decorating the interior of a wedding tent, tulle is a valuable product to fill in gaps or corners where other decorations cannot stand alone. Purchase bolts of tulle in bulk online or from a fabric supplier in colors ranging from white to pink to glitter-accented.

  • Use tulle to tie bows around the backs of chairs. Cut sashes of tulle in 3 yard sections. Wrap them around the backs of chairs and tie them in place with a large, simple bow. Use these chair sashes in the reception or even to decorate ceremony chairs.

  • Drape tulle on the sides of the tent to add contrast and hide the vinyl surface of the tent itself. Locate the PVC support pieces to the wedding tent that run along the sides and support the roof of the tent. These horizontal bars are typically located 6 feet up the tent, though some are taller. Measure the distance from the floor to the bar and multiply it by two. Cut sections of tulle 2 feet wide and as long as the multiplied measurement. Drape the section of tulle over the support pipe so that the tulle wraps around the pipe and the two ends meet together at the floor. Cut a section of ribbon and tie the center of the tulle drape lightly to create an hourglass shape. Continue to drape tulle sections down the sides of the tent, keeping the corner edges of each section directly next to each other until the sides of the tent are covered.

  • Create tulle swags on the interior ceiling to add dimension to the room. Start with a long section of tulle in the center of the tent. Use the tent clips located along the seam lines of the tent’s ceiling. Clip a large section of tulle to the center and work it toward the diagonal corner of the tent. Clip the tulle every 24 to 36 inches to create a swag. At the corner of the room, allow the tail of the swag to drape all the way to the floor. Repeat the process until all four corners are complete. Hang a paper lantern or chandelier in the center to hide the ends of the tulle.

  • Create large bows to accent the room. Cut 2 to 3 yards of tulle and tie each sash into a large bow. Use fabric clips or hooks to hang the tulle bows in each corner of the tent, over the entrance and exit and on the corners of buffet tables.
